The Angel Cures St. Roch

The angel of the vita had two messages, that Roch was to be cured and that he was to return to Montpellier in preparation for his transit to Heaven. Here the double message has been visualized as two angels. The angel above has the news about Heaven, where St. Cecilia (with the palm branch) is playing the organ. The other angel, surprisingly portrayed as a crowned female, kneels down to lance the swelling on St. Roch's thigh.
